Mechanical Engineering Technology with Steelpan Manufacturing

Overview:
This programme is aimed at addressing the need for developing technological skills based in the Pan Manufacturing Industry.

All trainees will be exposed to modules which would develop their knowledge, in the areas of steelpan construction and tuning, science of sound and introduction to sound engineering, music, welding and fabrication, mechanical technology and practical experiences on the varying pan manufacturing and tuning equipment.

2 ½ years Full-time and Part-time

Entry Requirements

  • Must be 16 years to 47 years
  • Completion of pan music course or pan tuning course would be an asset
  • National/ Resident of Trinidad and Tobago
  • Copy of Identification Card
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Utility Bill
  • 2 Passport sized Photos

Cost:
GATE Funded.

Registration Fee:
$500.00

Certification:
Upon successful completion, trainees will be awarded a Diploma certified by MIC-IT and receive a certificate for Music certified by the Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music (Theory).

Full –time: Monday – Fridays (8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.) 
Part-time: Monday – Thursday (5.00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m.) AND Saturday (9.00 a.m. -1.00 p.m.)

Laventille Technology Centre:
Full –time: Monday – Fridays (8.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.) 
Part-time: Monday – Thursday (5.00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m.) AND Saturday (9.00 a.m. -1.00 p.m.)
